Canaan x Delstore showcasing Kapital Collection at Potato Head Hong Kong

Canaan collaboration with Delstore boutique in Hong Kong launched on the 17th of November 2016 to much enthusiasm. The collaboration showcased Kapital, one of Japan’s most underrated brand founded in Kojima, in the Okayama prefecture known for its denim production. Still overseen and managed by the original family members, Kapital’s high quality of ‘boro’-made pieces are among some of the most collected fashion pieces in the world. The pieces for Canaan were handpicked and curated by Delstore’s founder Derek Leung and were displayed among some of Derek’s collection of vintage books and collectibles.

The initial idea of the collaboration were first proposed to Derek over coffee in Wan Chai close to where Delstore is located. An avid fan of Delstore, Canaan’s Founder Emmelyn Gunawan had an interesting thought of collaborating with like-minded individual who shares the same ethos of supporting artisanal brands and working with artisans and designers who takes pride in their craft. For a full month, Canaan’s space in Potato Head Hong Kong was transformed into a Delstore’s pandora box infusing art, ceramic and wooden sculptures from Bali where Canaan is from and combining those with Derek’s fashion sensibility of curated Kapital pieces and his own personal collection.
